Instructor Training

Through this course, we offer training for instructors. The course is designed to bring high industry and safety standards to tribal enterprise. We want future generations to thrive in outdoor spaces and stay connected to the world that has loved us since before our stories began. We believe in ourselves. We believe in you. We would love to support you if you have a vision for your tribe, business, or community involving outdoor adventure. Our team provides trainings in: radio communications, gear selection/safety check, skill clinics according to the pursuit, and group management according to pursuit. We also offer more technical training in sea kayak, white water kayak, expedition hiking (on and off-track), rock climbing, risk assessment and management, self and peer rescue. Industry and societal norms have lead to non-Indigenous people dictating how we connect to and interpret wilderness spaces. A robust skillset and professional standard will allow our communities to empower our place-based wisdoms and support our nations in their sovereignty. Through building connections to the land, we can continue to build relationships that safeguard, and heal our peoples today.
